So you’ve decided on your budget for your next airsoft gun. Even if it’s not very big, there are still some good options for you. Do note that usually, for electric rifles, anything under about $100 will have plastic internals, and will not last very long.
What Should You Look for in a Budget Electric Rifle?
When looking at budget Airsoft weapons you obviously can’t have everything that you might have in a more premium weapon. What are the most important features to look for? Well, that really does depend on who you are and what you need out of the gun.
There are several different scenarios in which you might need something different. For example, if you just want to get something cheap right now, but plan on upgrading it, you will probably want something with good externals On the other hand if you just want it to last a long time, you will want to get one with very good reliability. Finally, if you just want to get a good budget rifle and want good overall performance there is an option for you too!
Budget Rifles with Good Externals
If you are simply interested in getting a cheap gun up front, but plan on upgrading or modifying it down the road, you will definitely want something with good externals. You want to make sure it’s a durable and reliable weapon that you like the feel of. For budget weapons with good externals we recommend choosing Elite Force or A&K.
Both brands make some excellent externals, and you can often find full metal models for under $200. However, at that price point, you can’t have everything. They are not going to have the same kind of performance as some of the other budget weapons. However, if you are going to be upgrading anyways, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Sometimes you just want a gun that is durable, reliable, and shoots well. Unfortunately, at the sub-$200 price point there aren’t too many weapons that check all the boxes.
